Got Google Maps working on my Clie!!!

Here's a screen shot.

Previously Google Maps didn't work on Japanese Palm OS, yet, thanks to Mini's tip on 1src, I edited the prc file with HexEdit (not to take credit for the fix, please check out Mini's site for details), and the error message was gone!

Although it's a shame the maps of Taiwan are empty, I'll have mobile G Maps for my Hokkaido cycling trip this summer :)

Hi, this is Philpalm. I used to ride my bicycle and was a Botany major. Too bad not much is written about the Japanese version of Clie. I suppose by now most Japanese have thrown their Clies away.

So how is your Japanese? I can read the Chinese script a bit but didn't learn the Japanese common phonetic writing.

So what part of biology are you studying? Anyway good luck in your ventures...

Hi! I guess the situation should be similar with Clies worldwide: Some diehards hanging on while most people move on. However, if you want to know a little about Japanese Clies, you should check out SPA san's blog: www.so-mo.net

It's a Sony fan blog by a Clie user that I read everyday. Although it's all Japanese, I think it's still an interesting site even if you can't read Japanese since it's got lots of photos.

Really happy to know a fellow friend from a close field :) My department was a merge of previous Botany and Zoology departments, resulting in me to be one of the first "Life science" majors on campus. Yet I found that I could never get my self to remember all the names of those plants, so I stayed away from Botany courses after my 2nd year in college. Nothing bad about botany, just found that I'm not suit for it. I now focus on Herpes viruses.
