Sony Cybershot HX1

This time Sony almost did all the important things right:
Jogdial right where your thumb is: on the top back of the grip right below the mode dial
  • Zoom control right below the shutter button
  • Metal mode dial
  • Infolithium battery is back!!!
  • Manual mode & EVF still there as all H series cameras
Some great to have features:
  • Mechanical shutter
  • on board photo stitching for wide angle shots
  • 1080p video recording
  • Exmor CMOS with an emphasis on less noise
  • 20x optical zoom
Some points I'm not sure are good or not:
  • The CMOS size is still 1/2.4", the CCD on my H9 is 1/2.5", which is tiny. I blame it for all the noise. I hope switching to CMOS would reduce the noise, but come on, can't you make a Cybershot with a 2/3" sensor just as the F707? I don't need 9Megapixels, 5 is enough.
  • What's "Sony G lens", how does it compare with the Carl Zeiss lenses that were standard on Cybershots? Sony's never known for lenses......
But I really want to try out this camera for sure :)
